Volkswagen bundles its safety technologies under the IQ.Drive banner
December 18 2019,
Volkswagen offers all the active safety technologies that consumers want in their vehicles without necessarily grouping them under one banner. All of that will change next year with the arrival of IQ.Drive, a new designation for Volkswagen's driver assistance systems.
Announced in December, IQ.Drive will be offered on most new 2020 Volkswagen vehicles, including the 2020 Volkswagen Tiguan IQ.Drive starting at $ 37,670. IQ.Drive includes adaptive cruise control, automatic braking with pedestrian detection, lane departure monitoring and prevention, blind spot monitoring and rear cross traffic monitoring. These technologies are able to detect potential dangers, warn the driver and even intervene to prevent an accident.
IQ.Drive will also be used to unveil new autonomous driving technologies in the coming years. The German automaker is already talking about offering devices like automatic driverless parking and level 5 autonomous driving on the highway by 2023.
